Ayla is two wolves in one; both light and dark claiming her looks.
On the right side of her body, she is drenched in colours of misty dawn; the gilded gold of her true body is tinged with faint streaks of rose, which become more saturated once they reach her head and tail. The impeccable rose mask is then sharpened by the striking azure blue of her right eye.
Her darkness has its origin in her mother's womb; she stole her brother's spirit for herself and thus the sign of her crime marks the left side of her body. Melanistic black covers the full length of her rose golden body, from her nose to the tip of her tail, and the colour sinks deep into her, blackening her skin as well as her left eye. The thief's mark has thoroughly claimed her, but she does not view this as an unsightly thing.
Ayla has not only taken her brother's looks; she has also taken his power. When incensed, fire would erupt from the darkness and consume the whole left side of her body. The intensity is akin to a wildfire; angry, wild, and seemingly uncontrollable; and yet it does not char her. It cannot, for the mark protects her from the fury of fire element.
Ayla and her siblings were born on a hot day; their mother had told them that the presence of sweltering sun on that day was a blessing because she believed it meant the children would eventually become masters of fire.
Upon birth, her mother identified her as a thief when she gazed upon her half black pelt and was certain that it would be her fate to become a rogue later in her life. This premonition terrified her so she kept her daughter close to her, hoping to teach her goodness which would brighten her future or as she believed. But, alas, Nona was easily swayed by lures of decadence.
Ayla soon found herself amongst marauders who did not falter from immorality. She lied, she burned, and she stole. But her group followed a set of rules: they would not harm, they would not violate, and they would not kill. She would later adopt those rules for herself when she eventually broke away from her circle.
As she was young when she joined, her friends viewed her as a girl needing to be protected, even though the fire magic she possessed was amongst the strongest in her group. Despite their good intentions, this frustrated and alienated her.
With time, curiosity led her elsewhere; she wanted to see what she would find if she walked alone, for all of her life thus far she always had someone guarding and shielding her.
