Standing at 5'4" and weighing a total of 155 pounds (about 20 or so coming from the horns), Axel is a rather lanky wolf with a very heavy, coarse coat that almost always carries an undercoat. The base color of his fur is pure ebony, only broken by the maroon overlay that blankets over the top portion of his pelt.
For his markings, just above his rear and the very top of his forearms (beneath the shoulders) are gold crescent moon shapes. The bottom portion of his mid-length tail is a phoenix orange-red mix which also appears in the markings just beneath the nape of his neck along the withers, and the one solely on the right side of his face shaped like a ripping mark across his muzzle leading under his eye. His ears are also dipped in the coloration along the backs.
His eyes are a piercing cerulean blue, and perhaps the most prominent thing about him are the massive length horns that shoot straight over his back in a slightly downward curve. These horns only branch off just above where his ears sit to curve upward and out toward the front. They're covered in red rune markings.
Accessories: Axel's left ear is pierced five times. The two at the very top are studs (gold and silver each), the middle two are small chains with a magenta and blue feather hanging at the bottom, and the very bottom piercing is a silver bar.
Personality
Axel may best be described as a loose cannon or a bull in a china shop. He's almost entirely incapable of looking on the positive side and tends to focus highly on the negative aspect of everything. He isn't afraid to speak his mind whenever he feels like it, and is often prone to word vomit.
Among these things, he also suffers from acute amnesia and post-traumatic stress disorder that may be triggered at any point in time. Due to his amnesia he's entirely forgotten his childhood, prior family, and acquaintances. There's still a part of his subconscious that remembers, unaware to him, and is why he suffers from random PTSD episodes when something sparks his recollection.
As a part of his PTSD, he's developed a hatred for winged wolves and an extreme authority complex. He's also entirely unfond of individuals who pledge themselves under packs, as he believes it to be groupthink. He tends to jeer and make fun of pack wolves, calling them mindless sheep because of this. Despite his hatred for packs, he tends to find himself on random pack lands a lot for one reason or another. It could be deep down he's suppressing an urge to belong, but he'd never admit it to anyone out loud. He prefers the loner life above all else.
History
Axel was born in a different time and place. He was sired by Asmodeus Trahern, a wolf who became a god purely through his actions in life; chosen for greatness by powers unknown. His mother was a female known as Onoskelis Belial, and was just one of many women to have fallen in love with his sire. She fought and won her place as alpha by his father's side just before his litter's birth; making him and his siblings princes and princesses.
A great calamity befell their world, and his parents lives were both forfeit in the aftermath. His litter was hidden away for fear of assassination as the last living heirs of the pair. They'd spent their young lives secluded away in a bog raised on stories of their parents greatness, and how they were to inherit the throne when they returned home. Then came the great purge.
That was where Axel met him.
River Janus. The pauper who became king and stole a young boys dreams. Through many moons of thwarting the man's name, leading up to a challenge he eventually lost, Axel grew to loathe the king in the north. He was killed eventually by an avalanche in the mountains, never to be seen or heard from again; but his soul lived on. His essence was collected and brought together by a powerful entity in another plane of existence. There he was reborn in a peaceful place, his memories stripped. He met many wolves there, most who tried to convince him to let go of his negative ways. Even paradise couldn't bring the turmoil raging inside him to rest.
The runes on his horns were rewritten by a shaman in that far plane, a curse and a blessing bestowed upon him. They read: "To overwrite the accumulated sins, you've got as many times as you need, from the repeating start line."
⤸⤹
Once again Axel finds himself in a foreign plane of existence, although his memories of all events mentioned prior are completely erased from memory. The last thing he remembers is opening his eyes in a field of flowers and looking up at the morning sun. A foggy haze clouding his thoughts, like waking from a drunken stupor.
