...as i have found horrors in the light.

Once brilliantly blue waters are now tainted with the dark red of faultless blood. The blue glow attempts to break through the thick pool of cruor that seeps from the floating carcass but ends up casting a dim red glow on the aggressor’s shadowesque figure as she wades above her kill. Every subtle movement she makes in the water seems magnified as silence hangs heavy among the bleached trunks of the swamp trees. Her pale muzzle, now painted in crimson, slips down to the bobbing victim to peel another slab of flesh apart from the muscle and fat beneath.

Her teeth dig into the sinew to find the savory innards that she craves. Her heartbeat races with every spatter of blood that hits her tongue as the iron-heavy liquid titillates her taste buds. This is the only rush that she lives for now; it’s all that she can do to finally feel again. And it tastes… so… good.

Ripples within the water catch her eye as she ceases her voracious action to peer into the bloodied depths. Among the ringlets, she sees a wavering reflection of herself, blanketed in the corruption of her action. The visage wavers as droplets of blood disrupt the water and the reflection shifts momentarily to that of a figure even darker than she, and larger by far. It is of one she once knew, long ago when she was but a child. Nothing more than a tattered memory at this point as she has grasped for shreds of him to hang onto throughout her years. The image fades all too quickly, leaving her with the image of herself once more.

don't let the wolf into your bed

If she were any wolf but herself, Seline would be entirely enchanted with the woods around her. Be that as it may, she holds no marvelous wonder for what she does see; but she does appreciate the beauty of it. In fact, that appreciation and lack of wonder is what allows her to move silently toward the water, hungrily taking in the bright blue hue. It reminds her of someone, a set of eyes from what could be remembered as a dream, and even as she thinks it the thought is fleeting. A different time, a different life.

Just as quickly as the thought leaves does she notice a peculiar stain within the blue. It appears almost purple in truth, but upon further inspection is it seen to be a dark and deep red. Perhaps she was not as aware as she would ever admit- her fangs would find flesh before admitting to such a thing. And though it had been overlooked at first, it does not take Seline long to find the source of her interest. She finds a dark wolf who stares at her own reflection in the water, apparently unaware of her surroundings as well. A soft and amused chuckle falls as venomous green eyes scan this stranger, and she only takes a step forward when she sees the body.

Salivation is immediate, for she knows well the particular taste of the blood in the water, as well as the flesh that remained still on the carcass. Seline however makes no move forward to advance upon this stranger; this girl. Instead, she remains where her white paws had brought her, close to the water but not too close. The dark wolf had arrived prior to herself, after all, and she didn't want to be too rude. At least, not yet; not until she knew more and learned of this other who enjoyed a finer taste in things.

A scarred lip moves slightly in what could be conceived as a smile, or perhaps as a sneer, and it would be up to the observer determine for themselves which it was. There is no introduction, for that would come with time, if such a thing were even warranted.

"What brings a creature such as yourself to a feast such as this one?" She does not hide the feigned sweet tones to her voice, or the way she speaks of the other and their actions. Truth was easier to uphold than lies, even if the innocence behind the truth was in fact a lie. But it had always seemed to put others at ease, and reptilian yellow green eyes watch closely in their observation, wondering what sort of wolf they had come across this day. Friend, or foe? Predator, or prey?

she'll take your soul then eat your head
