Nivaulis Mountains
In the northern most region of Valyria, a vast mountain range stretches over most of the northern border. The mountains sweep around and to the east creating a wide arc, where far below various fields and evergreen forests can be seen. At almost all times the mountains are covered in snow, their temperatures dipping incredibly low in winter. Large snow storms are frequent on the mountaintops, and dangers of avalanches keep many steps cautious. The mountains themselves are pocketed all over with various caves and valleys where various herds have been known to make their home. The land here is rough and unpredictable to those that may be unfamiliar with it. There are legends about some of the ancient caves here housing dragons and their stolen treasures deep inside of them. » testing the points and ma... by Tempest 04-16-2019, 05:35 AM |

Alsius Bay
To the north western edges of Valyria, bordering along the Navaulis Mountains, the Alsius Bay stretches out for several miles. The shore is a dark thick sand, littered with wilting yellowed grasses. Jagged cliffed edges spill massive chunks of ice over their edges, some breaking loose to crash into Vyseria Ocean far below. The freezing ocean waters of the north are commonly spotted with massive chunks of ice flow and passing glaciers. Various arctic animals have made their home in this barren place. In all seasons but summer, the bay is a solid thick sheet of ice. When warmer temperatures come to the bay it is a difficult and dangerous place and many have been known to be lost to the unforgiving frigid waters that linger beneath. In winter when the ice is furthest and strongest something unknown can be seen out in the distance. Never

Estrella Field
Estrella Fields sits along the southern border of the Nivaulis Mountain range. The fields here are strange and beautiful. The field is full of flowers, in every color imaginable. Small glowing white orbs provide light here, landing from flower to flower to seemingly rest. The land here is believed to be blessed, as some of the rarest plants known to Valyria have been discovered growing in small patches. Healers have been known to make long and difficult journeys to come and hunt out their desired herbs here. Many cultures feel this land is a hallowed ground for its rich sources of life in all forms. It is believed that if the land is not shown proper respect or blood is spilled on the soil, ill luck will follow. Never

||||
Riviori Forest
South of the Nivaulis mountain range, the land is still high and jagged, unbalanced like the range to the north but far descended here to allow the growth of a thick evergreen forest. The trees here are quite tall and old, large enough that some have been hollowed to allow dens in and large enough that one could easily hide their whole body behind it. The tree trunks are carved with strange ancient symbols, giving off a faint green glow and leaking small amounts of a strange glowing green sap with unknown properties, but is rumored to be useful in potions. The trees themselves give off a faint greenish glow at all times, but it is much more noticeable in the darkness of night. Even when the pine needles fall off of the trees they retain their brilliant glow. Never

||||
Crystari Mountains
South of the Nivaulis mountain range and the Riviori Forest, the land rises into a smaller mountain range, overgrown with moss and grass lands. Large still crystal clear lakes and pools are scattered around the terrain, creating large rivers and slow moving creeks that weave all over the lands and web out over all of the lands of Valyria. Fed by so much water, the land here is very green and vibrant in the warmer seasons with thick vegetation covering much of its surface. It’s an ideal hunting ground as many herds tend to gather and make their homes on the steep mountainside, drawn in by the heavy plant life and abundant sources of water. It’s a rugged place though and can pose difficulty to navigate and one can easily become lost in the deeper mountains. Never

Vyseria Beach
Along the western edges of Valyria, traveling all the way from the Alsius Bay, a thick sandy shore line travels for several miles. Large rocks and seashells decorate the shore, some even formed into small dens where the sea waters constant waves have worn away massive openings into their sides. Salt grasses and various bits of shrubbery grow further up the shore closer to the in land, and heavy trees along that. Out into the ocean small islands break the tranquil blue surface, much of their contents unknown to the wolves of Valyria. Legends and lore speak of the islands holding many curses to those who trespass on them. Such stories have kept visitors away for some time. » The Lynx & Whitewater by Orithyia 09-07-2019, 08:26 PM |

Eldaglir Volcano
Further inland and south of the Crystari Mountains lies the strange Eldaglir Volcano, unlike any other known to exist. It's rocky formation is covered in soft crystal like ash, the stone beneath a stark bone white. Despite its almost winter like appearance, it retains a burning heat within its core, glowing silver lava spilling down its sides to collect in a silver pool beneath. The land surrounding it is void of most other life, however, rare herbs are known to be found here. During the time of the Moonveil it is said a rare event may occur here! Never

||||
Stardust Swamp
The Stardust Swamp is a truly ethereal place, thick silver trees grow tightly together, their branches tangling and blending into one massive canopy that blocks out much of the natural light overhead. Instead the silver trees are dusted with glimmering specks in their wide pale blue leaves and their milk white trunk, like stardust has fallen across the swamp. The trees grow a strange and beautiful white flower that hangs down and open, dripping silver nectar. Even the water here, eerily still and calm, is a shimmering brilliant blue in color, seeming to give off its own glow. The water that flows through the swamp is believed to be blessed, holding some form of magical properties that can heal or bring one closer to the goddesses. » i have found so much beau... by Seline 10-16-2019, 06:28 PM |

Gorscari Falls
Far south lays the Gorscari Falls; the land here is the lowest point of the Nivaulis Mountain range, though it lies quite a bit further south than the mountains and the Riviori Forest. Sloping down into the rest of Valyria, a massive formation of waterfalls and cliff side stretch for several miles, running off into the massive lake of Gorscar below that feeds all of Valyria. Run off from the mountains to the north brings many of the dead flowers that adorn Estrella fields down this way, turning the various waterfalls into brilliantly colored spectrums and the lake below into a swirl of beautiful colors. The Falls are an excellent hunting ground from the herds and various animals that come to find a sure source of water and an easy place to hide in the various hollowed out caverns behind and around the falls. Never

||||
Misnavari Forest
The forest here is unlike most others, instead of trees mushrooms grow in their place. They are of a variety of sizes, from the very small to well over fifteen feet in height. Their colors range from rich blues and purples to brilliant reds and oranges. Their scent is sickeningly sweet, masking almost all other smells, making tracking difficult to do in this strange forest. The stalks they rest on can be several feet around, and some of them have hollowed bases where it appears some wandering travelers have taken it up as a temporary den and resting place. Their caps stretch even wider, creating thick pockets of shade one can hide beneath. The ground here is covered in a thick squishy moss, the earth loose beneath ones paws. This land is believed to have once been inhabited by the Sidhe. Never

Ruvanic Pillars
The Ruvanic Pillars are strange and beautiful stones that give off intense electrical like light. It can be seen swirling beneath the grey stone surfaces as though whatever the light that is inside is a living breathing thing. They have a variety of shapes and sizes, but their center most pillar is a massive structure, towering above the tree tops. At various times the stones each release a great beam of light that connects them all to the center most pillar. Thought to most they are an incredible mystery, it is said that the Ironwood Pact is able to decipher some of their many secrets. It is a place both feared and respected. Never

Revortum Forest
Revortum is and odd and beautiful place. It appears for the most part as a normal forest, large beautiful trees, green leaves, various patches of small white flowers. But the land here has strange properties within it, and anti-gravity like nature that has created strange creatures that can call this place their home and makes walking an impossible task. Various sizes of water droplets float through the air, jellyfish ranging in sizes from incredibly small to large enough to lay upon float through the air, fish swim in beautiful sweeping arcs, kept alive by the abundance of moisture and magic in the air here. As walking is not possible, a wolf’s gait here is more like large making large leaps to get from one place to another. They are just heavy enough to be able to lightly touch the earth, but they still hover and barely touch the surface. Never

Arxis Pool
The pond here is not exactly large, but not exactly small. Its waters are a deep sapphire blue, despite its mostly shallow depths and it seem to shimmer as if starts lurked in its slow moving current. Floating on its surface are massive white flowers, perfectly set around its edges; many believe this represents the cycle of the moon. In the center of this pool is a small island, with three great curved white trees, twisted into crescent like shapes, their leaves a beautiful crimson red in color. No living thing, not even birds, are seen to lurk on the island. But to swim to its shore and step on this island shows an entirely new world. Once inside, the veil is lifted to those on her shores and a massive expanse of the same twisted trees stretch out before them, a strange and beautiful forest filled with the calls of every exotic bird and prey. This is the known home of the common Redling birds. Never

||||
Shadow Veil Forest
This is an ancient place, touched greatly by the war of the gods. Legends say this land was dead and decaying when the war took place, and from it came the Magiri species. To this day, many Magiri are known to still live within it. The forest since those long years has changed, not only because of the war but because of the wolves born from its lands. The forest remains very dark at almost all times, as if all light but Lune's is absorbed into the dark trees. A pale thick fog is always present here, weaving like a serpent through the trees. It is a true living thing, connected very much to the Magiri’s beginnings. Many believe it protects them, possibly being a collection of those that have passed on or are waiting to be reborn, and also protects this ancient forest. Those coming with ill intentions suffer greatly, or are not seen again. Never

Navortic Jungle
The Navortic Jungle is a strange and beautiful place, far to the south; its temperatures are always quite warm. The plants life makes traveling a bit difficult, no clear pathways are found through the jungle floor. A variety of rare and strange flowers and other plant life can also be found growing in the jungle, making it a frequent place for hunters. Possibly the most unique aspect of the jungle other than its beauty are the tree tops. High in the trees, the leaves have grown to impossibly large sizes, spiraling around each other and forming together to form large dome like structures. This jungle is said to have once been home to an Amazonian like tribe who made their home inside of these tree house like structures, living off of the strange and deadly jungle below them, safe in the treetops. Never

Ignatus Forest
Cursed lands, the Ignatus Forests are believed to be the lands on which Devera stole from Lune and created the Drakai Blood. It was said to have once been a beautiful and thriving forest, but once Devera came and her dark magic began to work on the stolen power of Lune, the forest began to die and fire began to consume everything. But her darkness still lurks here; strange and ancient burning symbols embedded themselves into every living thing, keeping this place as it was in the days of the first Drakai. Though the trees are withered, twisted and black they do not burn any longer. Instead the fire wraps and coils in their branches instead of leaves, the bushes and plant life also hold her fire. Even the living creatures that were here in those days have been forced to stay, branded by her Mark and live an eternity of burning. Never
|
||||
Borakis Desert
A land of sweltering heat and unforgiving sunlight. This land is further to the south and edging along the Ignatus Forest. The sands are fine and almost soft to the touch, their pristine white grains mixed with deep reds and charcoal black. The desert holds many small oasis locations, but these are false hopes. As time passes and night falls they will find themselves terribly ill. Sometimes this illness can last up to days and weeks, rarely it may bring death. These illusions of safety and reprieve from the desert’s harsh heatwaves are nothing but toxins masked in the alluring appearance of an oasis. Only one true oasis exists in the desert. It is difficult to find, and nobody truly knows why this spot is evasive. Some have stories surrounding it, though many have died trying to find it. It is said that within the plant life in this oasis precious resources can be found. Never

Moonblood Swamp
The swamp lands here have been the home to the Covenant for what is believed to be centuries. Though they have often inhabited other territories, they have always existed within the Moonblood Swamp. The territory here surrounds the Moon Tree, and the Moonflow passes through here. Sunlight never touches this place, it is lit only by moonlight and small lamp flowers that grow along the ground and through the tree limbs. The swamp itself is filled with silver white trees, nearly bone white; from the bark to the beautiful long flowing branches of willow like leaves that trail along the grasses below. Even the thick grass and vegetation that grows here is a pale shimmering white. The land is believed to be blessed by the Moonflow, a haven and protection to those who serve in the Clave. » Stardancers by Eris 09-06-2019, 10:46 PM |

Tekorai Islands
This massive island chains sits far out over the ocean, bordering Valyria along its southern edges. From the shoreline its easy to spot them dipping in and out of the clouds. Getting there is not easy though. Acess to the islands can only be achieved through ones aether or by those with the ability to fly. The islands themselves range in size, though generally they are quite large. Their surfaces are generally tropical, with this forest cover and heavy vine growth that links them together, forming long swaying bridges between them. There are legends of Guardian spirits once having called this home, their powers still weaving through those vines to protect them. Many have reported seeing the vines move as if of their own free will and others have reported being attacked by them. The isalnds here are home to many rare herbs and creatures that have never been found on the lower lands. Never

||||
The Shadow Tree
The Shadow Tree is a dark and forbidding place, believed to have housed the founders of the Order and their kin. It is a massive twisted and gnarled black tree that reaches several feet high into the sky. Its trunk is a deep shade of black, smooth to the touch and incredibly cold to the touch as though ice lives beneath the surface. The leaves as well as a dark shade of gray, from their limbs hang the various skulls of wolves and other animals that have been used in various rituals. As the trunk is several feet thick, the bottom has been hollowed out into a great room where those who wish to gather and worship may do so. In the center of the room that has been made stands a circular pool, a well of fresh blood that swirls at all times can be found here. Never
|
||||
The Moonflow
The Moonflow is a holy river, a keeper of balance. The waters flow between the Shadow and the Moon tree, nourishing both ancient alters to the six goddesses. The water here appears like the night sky, a deep sapphire blue in color, shimmering with stars. An ancient force resides here, beings known as Lyreflies. A Lyrefly is simply the true essence of a fallen being. They are keepers of the balance, of magic, of essence. It is their collective force that all wolves draw upon to use magic. Lyreflies are a delicate structure on the Moonflow though. They can become corrupted under certain conditions and misused they can unleash unbelievable horrors onto the world of Valyria. Improper funeral rites, existing for long periods of time in the mortal world, and other unknown causes can lead a Lyrefly to becoming incredibly envious of the mortal life, corrupting them and turning them into a purely dark energy. Never

Moon Tree
The Moon Tree is the alter for the goddesses Lune, Celeste, and Thesalay. It is a massive sleek and beautiful white tree that reaches several feet high into the sky. Its trunk is a brilliant silvery white, smooth to the touch and incredibly warm to the touch as though fire lives beneath the surface. The leaves as well are like flakes of polished silver, from their limbs hang the blessed flowers known as the Moondrop flower, very rare and guarded by ancient curses. As the trunk is several feet thick, the bottom has been hollowed out into a great room where those who wish to gather and worship may do so. In the center of the room that has been made stands a circular pool, a well of beautiful blue water that swirls at all times can be found here. Devout followers often come to leave offerings of flowers, meat, gems, precious metals, and their own blood. Never
